The object support plate is used to hold standard foam samples to determine the deformation behaviour. The specimen lies on a perforated plate.
A round or square specimen penetrates the foam at a constant speed to determine a force-displacement diagram. The shape (round or square) and the area of the specimen are specified in the basic standards ISO 2439, ISO 3386 and ASTM 3574.
The factory standards of different car manufacturers follow these standards, but sometimes evaluate the results differently. The slide plate is either mounted directly on the height-adjustable carrier table of the universal testing machine or is equipped with a standard D16 receptacle with cross hole for D8 pins and can be mounted on a flat plate in the measuring axis.
